La nouvelle infrastructure IPv6 natif en cours de déploiement chez Free depuis 2016 complique grandement la localisation des équipements installés dans les NRA et NRO. Il devient d'autant plus difficile de suivre l'avancement du dégroupage et du déploiement de la fibre optique.
Cette nouvelle infrastructure est notamment utilisée dans les zones fibrées où Free déploie la technologie 10G-EPON. Depuis début 2017, elle commence à être utilisée pour l'xDSL dans certains NRA nouvellement dégroupés et devrait à terme être généralisée partout dans le réseau de Free.
Pour faciliter la localisation des nouveaux équipements, nous avons mis en place un outil communautaire permettant à tous les Freenautes concernés de contribuer en nous indiquant leur localisation et optionnellement le NRA ou NRO auquel ils sont reliés.

Expanding a LVM partition to fill remaining drive space
Logical Volume Management (LVM) provides a high level, flexible view of a server's disk storage. Though robust, problems can occur. The purpose of this document is to review the recovery process when a disk is missing or damaged, and then apply that process to plausible examples. When a disk is accidentally removed or damaged in some way that adversely affects the logical volume, the general recovery process is:
Replace the failed or missing disk
Restore the missing disk's UUID
Restore the LVM meta data
Repair the file system on the LVM device
The recovery process will be demonstrated in three specific cases:
A disk belonging to a logical volume group is removed from the server
The LVM meta data is damaged or corrupted
One disk in a multi-disk volume group has been permanently removed

rssh is a restricted shell for use with OpenSSH, allowing only scp and/or sftp. It now also includes support for rdist, rsync, and cvs. For example, if you have a server which you only want to allow users to copy files off of via scp, without providing shell access, you can use rssh to do that.
